## About Haldane Optical

Haldane has been on the same New Town corner since 1972, and the glazing bench upstairs has outlasted four owners. The practice takes on the work other shops send away — rimless drilling, hand-edged lenticulars, repairs to frames that have not been made for thirty years — which is why half the customers arrive holding something in a paper bag rather than choosing something new.

### How the desk works

Conversations as the bench sees them, with their id and state. Look one up with its id and the email it belongs to, or sign in and see your own.

A conversation is looked up by its conversation id together with the email it belongs to — both,
always. A signed-in visitor skips that: the assistant reads their own conversations from
their identity and never asks for an address it has already been given.

### This is a demonstration

The Apple Messages for Business connection is on the roadmap, not in production — this page shows the assistant half of it working against a seeded bench so you can judge the experience before a registration exists. Nothing written here reaches a real system.
